Made by Mattel, there are 6 Monster High Dolls so far: Lagoona Blue (the Sea Monster's daughter), Draculaura (Draculas daughter), Clawdeen Wolf (Werewolf's daughter), and Frankie Stein (Frankenstein's daughter). Two more dolls are in a set together: Cleo De Nile (the mummy's daughter) and Deuce Gorgon (son of Medusa). These two are the "it" couple at the Monster High School.
Each doll has physical characteristics that resemble their parent: stitches for Frankie Stein, fangs and ears for Clawdeen Wolf, and fins for Lagoona Blue. Each doll comes with a pet: a Neptuna pet goldfish for Lagoona Blue, a Count Fabulous pet bat for Draculaura, a Watzit pet for Frankie Stein, a Crescent pet cat for Clawdeen, a Hissette pet snake for Cleo De Nile, and a Perseus pet rat for Deuce Gorgon.
Due to the fact that these dolls have small accessories, pets and removable limbs (yes, removable limbs; they wouldn't be a cool monster doll if they didn't!) they are recommended for ages 6 and up. The hands and arms are removable which makes them a cool toy and it makes it easier to dress the dolls.
There are a lot of other fun toys and things to do in the Monster High toy line. Mattel has designed a plush stuffed version of the Monster High Doll Set and created a website totally devoted to Monster High. It has each doll's biography, music to download, games, and 15 webisodes to view. The website and webisodes also include additional characters like Jackson Jekyll, Holt Hyde and Ghoulia Yelps. It is expected they will also become part of the toy line in the near future.
The novel, Monster High, was published in September 2010 and the sequel should be available in September 2011. More novels are expected in the future. This is a collection that is expected to grow over the years as they expand the monster high doll toy line.
